Description
As the common name suggests, the leaves, like the land based "sensitive plant", close when they are touched. The floating (mature) stems of this tropical plant are covered in white, spongy tissue, full of air cells.
Set the plant out after the pond water has reached 70ยบ F. Should be planted in soil, allowing the stems to lay on the surface of the water. However, the stems can also be floated on the water surface, with less dramatic results.
Sold as rooted or un-rooted cuttings (un-rooted early in the season) - minimum of 8" to 10" long.
Full sun to part shade.
USDA Zones 9 and 10.

Winter Plant Shipping Note:
Due to colder weather that may be present in your area, all plant orders purchased between January 1st and mid-March are purchased with the understanding that they will be held for shipment at a later, more weather appropriate time for your area. We start shipping plants to the south (first), but sometime after March 15th. We encourage you to request an appropriate shipping date for your area (when you place your order), or we will ship them at what we determine is the appropriate time for your area. We ship plants according to your USDA Plant Hardiness Zone, but will not be held responsible for late frosts or freezes in your area.
